Left Alive is a primarily stealth-based third-person shooter, with survival game elements as well. While many praised the graphics, story, and music, reviewers criticized the game's controls, artificial intelligence, game physics, and voice acting. ![]() Left Alive received generally unfavorable reviews from critics. Developers conceived character ideas before the game's planning began, and many changes to their appearances and ages occurred as the story solidified. Originally conceived as a strategy game, it gained more action elements as development proceeded and ultimately became the first survival game in the Front Mission series. Set in the Front Mission series, the story follows several individuals trying to survive amidst a surprise invasion of their country, while both helping civilians to safety and attempting to stop destruction and damage wrought by Wanzers, a form of combat mecha. It was announced at a press conference by Sony Interactive Entertainment before the 2017 Tokyo Game Show. As such, Metacritic only used a game’s lowest-scoring platform as a reference.Left Alive is a 2019 stealth video game developed by Ilinx and published by Square Enix for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4. In addition, no title is mentioned more than once, even if it received low scores on multiple platforms. If a game received fewer than seven reviews from “professional critics,” it didn’t make the list. Metacritic’s list takes all platforms into account, counting games that launched between Januand December 31, 2019. It’s an interesting look at some of the year’s less favorably received ventures. The review aggregate site Metacritic has compiled a list of last year’s 10 lowest-scoring titles. And there were quite a few duds, too, titles that launched but didn’t quite stick the landing. Last year did include a slew of smaller titles that won the day, however, such as A Plague Tale: Innocence and Disco Elysium. To some, there were no big AAA standouts, especially when compared to 2018, which featured the likes of God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2. In hindsight, 2019 was a confusing year for games. ![]()
